Pharma-peddling supermarket chain Publix throws $800K to fight against medicinal marijuana

Medical marijuana

What can be said about the corporate collusion to prevent the legalization of marijuana that hasn’t already been said time and time again?

Us logical, educated folks have been extremely outspoken regarding the complete ridiculousness of cannabis criminalization — frequently listing facts and statistics to back up our claims about the health and economic benefits that marijuana has — but the powers that be refuse to listen. Lining their pockets with dirty money is much more attractive to them than helping out the American people at large. But that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

They continue to wage war on logic and nature.

Recently, the trust of Carol Jenkins Barnett — who just so happens to be the daughter of Publix founder George W. Jenkins — recently donated $800,000 to the anti-legalization group Drug Free Florida. This is important for a number of reasons.

For starters, Miami New Times exposed Publix’s connection to both the Florida Medical Association (FMA) and PhRMA, reporting, “It appears that PhRMA and the FMA have shared PR firms on at least one occasion and that the FMA has historically maintained an entire lobbying wing dedicated to ‘Pharmaceutical Corporate Affairs.'”

In regards to Drug Free Florida, not only is the group opposed to the legalization of recreational marijuana, they also want to destroy medical marijuana. This is especially disgusting, considering how many illnesses can be cured and relieved by the medicinal elements of the plant. But Publix — on their Pharma-fueled high horse — will continue to ignore these facts. Instead, they’ll push the narrative that legalizing medicinal marijuana usage will lead to recreational usage, which, in turn, will lead to a complete collapse of society.

Seriously. That’s what these corrupt individuals are trying to do. Like the villains in a children’s cartoon, they’re so absurdly maniacal that it’s almost hard to believe that it’s all for real. It should be a joke, but it’s sadly the honest truth. They’re willing to let people suffer and even die in order to line their pockets with more money — and they’re all teaming up together.

As heartbreaking as that is, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise anymore. Money is what fuels all of these corporations — that’s how they end up joining forces with Big Pharma in the first place.
